General Idea FW17

For their Fall/Winter 2017 collection, duality is the theme throughout the collection. Everything is one, yet everything possesses a distinct dualism. The collection explores the conflicting sides of wearing masks that display an outward façade that differs from our insides. The relationships between such contrasting dualities hidden within these external shells ultimately manifests into one.

Fabrics with different textures are used to present the duality of contradicting feelings, such as the coexistence of hidden thoughts and the inner persona. Heavy shades are used this season

such as olive, grey, burgundy, navy and black. Oversized outerwear continues to be the staple for the brand, and for this season, are paired with tailored pants. Crisp tailored shirting and

heavy turtlenecks are styled underneath outerwear. Layered details are also prominent within the collection with a continued grommet detailing as seen in last season’s collection.
